B.Sc Nursing is a multidisciplinary comprehensive academia with global perspectives. It aims at preparing competent graduate nurses who can work independently or as members of health teams in providing holistic nursing care to individuals and groups at various levels of health in leadership positions in managing client care in hospitals as well as the community settings, teach in nursing and other related programs and participate in research activities.
Program Objectives
- Utilize sound knowledge in planning and providing comprehensive care to the clients
- Communicate effectively with individuals and groups
- Carry out diagnostic and therapeutic nursing measures competently
- Provide nursing care to clients with different health problems
- Take leadership role in planning directives, supervising and evaluating nursing care activities
- Demonstrate effective teaching skills in educating individuals and groups
- Demonstrate understanding of the socio cultural beliefs and practices which influence individuals
- Apply knowledge from physical, biological, behavioral sciences
- Apply critical thinking skill in making decisions
- Give preventive and restorative health services in line with the national health policies and programs
- Provide service within the framework of code of ethics and professional conduct and standards
- Demonstrate skill in teaching and counseling individuals and groups in all health settings
- Demonstrate leadership and managerial skills in all health institution
